So my birthday turned out to be pretty great! The night before Koko came home and surprised me with pizza and flowers! Def an awesome start :) My actual birthday was pretty uneventful...Koko went to work and I hung out with the kiddos and we met up with Emily and Autumn at Keva Juice. Koko made me an awesome steak dinner that night!! On the 10th we had to take Grandma 7 to the airport so Koko had the day off. We took Mas and Mia to the zoo. Mason LOVED the lions! He was so cute! Mia just likes being outside, so she was pretty happy the whole time! Luckily we got there right when it opened (and on a weekday) so nobody was there. After that we went to the mall and just enjoyed the day together. When my parents got back from sturgis they took us to Outback for a late birthday dinner! It was so good! Now its almost September...I cant believe it! I'm hoping I'll get better at keeping up with the blog!!

Almost 24...really?!
Well it's August...already! I cant believe I am coming up on my 24th birthday! How is this possible? So much has been going on in the past month(s)...I don't even know where to begin. Mason is fully potty trained and has been for about a month now-at last! It makes such a difference to not have to change so many diapers! He did pretty good with the whole thing and we only use pull ups at night just in case. Mia is growing right on track, she is already 3 months old now! At her 2 month appointment she weighed in at 13lbs 4oz and 23.5 inches. She has grown a lot considering she started out at 8lbs 12oz and 18.5 inches long. She laughed at Mason for the first time last month and has started rolling over. Mason gets a little jealous from time to time, but he is such an amazing big brother! He does everything he can to help me and always makes sure Mia is taken care of.
Mason has really turned into a little boy now. I cant look at him and see my baby boy anymore. It's so bittersweet. It seems unreal that in a few months he is going to be turning three. He def acts like a 2 year old though, complete with saying, "No" all the time. Boy, does Mason loooove to test his boundaries!! He talks ALL the time too, and sometimes he says the funniest things...The other day we were at Hobby Lobby (of course we were there for a while because I love that store) and he tells me, "Mommy, I don't like this Wal-Mart". I couldn't help but laugh. Mason loves going to Wal-Mart...its crazy!
We got our family portraits done recently. It worked out that Mia was exactly the same age as when we got our portraits done with Mason. They were both exactly one week from being three months old. Its pretty funny comparing their baby pictures. Mia looked a lot like Mason when she was born, but she is starting to come into her own look now. As you can see though, there is no denying that they are brother and sister!

My birthday is a week away... at first I was a little bummed to be turning 24, but the more I think about it...I am so happy with my life! I never thought that at 24 I would be where I am now! We have our house, our kids, and our pets. My life wouldn't be this great without Koko. He is so supportive and does everything he can for our family. A few weeks ago I decided to start selling cakes, it gives me a little something to do and brings in some extra money so I can spoil my kids more than they already are:) Now if I could just figure out how to slow time down a little I would be all set!!

Rewind to April 26th!!!
OMG! Where the heck has time gone??? Well, better late than never...so lets go back a bit to April 26th. My day started out pretty normal. I was very pregnant...and 4 days past my due date. I wasn't going to try any of the crazy things to start my labor...i tried walking...and walking...and walking some more. No luck! I pretty much gave up and figured I was likely going to be induced the next week. I had an appointment scheduled for the 28th. I wanted to go to hobby lobby to pick up some headbands for the baby before she got here...and of course I had to go to Walmart, as usual. I called my mom to see if she wanted to go with me. I started feeling a little weird, but i just assumed it was nothing. I had a ton of energy and luckily Mason was in a good mood so running errands wasn't going to be much of a chore. My mom got off work early, so i headed up to her house. As i was driving, i was pretty sure i was having contractions. They weren't at all painful and weren't regular by any means. So i shrugged it off. I told my mom that i thought i had contractions...but nothing to get excited about. we headed to hobby lobby and walmart...i started having more regular contractions-but of course i didnt want to get my mom's hopes up (or mine for that matter) so i just stayed put. we were only in walmart for about an hour and i had 4 contractions. it wasnt until we got back up to my moms house that i started thinking i might actually be in labor. My mom wanted me to stay at her house because she didnt want me driving, but i told her i hadnt had any more contractions and i would be fine. on my way home i called Koko and told him that i might be in labor...but i doubted that it was going to turn into anything and not to rush home. as the day went on they were irregular but between 10 and 20 minutes apart. around 8pm Koko had me call my midwife because they started getting stronger. I was so happy Jill was on that night. When i talked to Jill she said it didnt sound like i was in labor (im assuming because i was in a good mood and talking really friendly lol) and to take a bath and go to bed, if i started to be in a lot of pain to go ahead and go to the hospital. Koko and i started to get ready for bed...he had just got into bed and my contractions started getting alot worse and were only about 5 minutes apart (according to him). I was still convinced that i wasn't actually in labor and if we went in i was just going to get sent home. no thanks. Koko insisted that we take Mas up to my parents and he was going to take me into the hospital. at this point i was pretty sure that i might actually be in labor! so we get into the hospital and sure enough i get admitted because my contractions were 5-6 minutes apart. i still wont admit that Koko was right about that! anyway i was still in a really good mood and the contractions were painful...but not like i had imagined...and were NOTHING compared to the labor i went through with Mason. it was around 3am when i got an epidural...man oh man, this doctor was amazing! i still could feel my legs when i got the epidural with Mason, this time-uh uh, i couldnt feel a thing!!! it was around 430am when my mom came to the hospital. i got about an hour of sleep at that point. i was still in a good mood tho! Around 10am they came in to see how far i had progressed...i was completely shocked when they said ok...you're ready! i seriously couldnt believe it! So they got everything ready and Mia was then born at 10:37am on April 27th! she was so big! 8lbs 12oz 18.5in. my *favorite* midwife Kathy delivered her...and she was also the one that delivered Mason. We were all laughing because we couldnt believe how big she was and how much she looked like Mason. My favorite part of that day was when Mason got to come in and meet Mia. He was so nervous and wasnt really sure what to think. He loved her right away and luckily for us wasnt jealous at all! He even got a present from her-a brand new baseball bat and a pack of baseballs! We got to come home 2 days later:)

2 year old+the zoo=an amazing day!!
On Wednesday we headed up to El Paso after Koko got off work at 1130. I had to pick up the bridesmaids dresses for Deanne's wedding coming up in June. I'll have a short 6 weeks after Mia's born to get in shape for that!! Hello weight watchers!!! Anyway, after we picked up the dresses we took Mason to the El Paso Zoo. So much had changed since the last time we were there! It looked sooo much better! We started off with the lions...Mason loved them! He kept "roaring" at them, sooo cute! Then we went across the bridge over to the giraffes, I don't think Mas really knew what to think of them. I don't know why, but Mas kept getting so excited every time he saw water...it was so random. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the alligators...Koko was pretty bummed...but quite a few of the animals weren't in the exhibits due to the deep freeze we had a few weeks ago. It was so cute to listen to Mas talk to the animals and wave to them...anytime we'd move on he'd say "bye, nice seeing you, have a good day"...this was Mason sitting on Daddy's shoulder waving to the tortoises<3
Mason loves making the elephant noises too...but when he actually sees the elephants he says, "no, scared of it"...he is sooo silly!
I wish i would have gotten a picture of him playing with the sand cats. They look like domesticated cats. Mason kept chasing one back and forth in the enclosure. He was laughing so hard, it was hilarious!!! My favorite was probably the sea lion tank with Mas. We were at the underwater observation area and the sea lions swim right up next to the window...Mas got kinda scared at first. He watched them swim by two more times and was like, "okay, I'm done, let's go"...he's getting to be such a big boy! I cant believe it! Before we left we had to go see the lions one more time...I couldn't believe how good he was all day! He is such a good little boy...we are sooo lucky!
After the zoo we ended up going to the Sunland Park Mall...spent at least 2 hours there...and didn't buy anything! It was just nice to get out of the house for awhile. I know Mason def enjoyed hanging out with his daddy all day!

Swingsets and Smiles
This past weekend was pretty exciting for Mason. He got a swingset from my parents and Mana (his great-grandma). It was the perfect house-warming/baby shower gift!! Koko and my parents started off around 10am sorting the pieces and getting things ready to set it up...of course none of the wood was labeled.
The directions said to allow 6-12 hours to set it up! We decided to have a BBQ and have Emily, Tristan, baby Autumn, and Grandma 7 over! It was gorgeous outside...only slightly windy. The slide had to be put together first and as soon as Mason realized what it was he got sooo excited! It was so adorable! I think it actually took around 6 hours to get it all set up. Mason was ecstatic once it was all put together.
The slide was a little fast for him at first but he got used to it pretty quick! My favorite part was when he went up to Koko, told him thank you for building the slide and gave him a big hug and kiss! It was sooo cute! Then of course he gave Pops and Tris big hugs and told them thank you too!
We actually got some other projects done around the house that we've been meaning to get to...like running the cable for the tv under the carpet...of course, we still haven't finished Mia's room! We still have a few weeks before she gets here! Hopefully we can get that done by next weekend! The next few weeks are going to be pretty crazy. I'm 34 weeks now...and we have the baby shower when I am 36 weeks...then Deanne's bachelorette party the weekend after! Hopefully Mia wont come until after all that...*fingers crossed*

Our Blog!!
Well I started this blog partially so we can look back and see where we were at in our lives. I love scrapbooking and looking back...but instead of just some pictures, we can really see what we were feeling and going through at each specific time. Well, as of right now we have a lot of changes that recently have taken place and many more to be coming in the next few weeks. Koko and I have our handsome little man, Mason, who is our world. He makes everything in our lives so worthwhile and so exciting! He is one of the smartest 2 year olds I have ever met! I'm definitely looking forward to posting updates about new milestones he has accomplished! I never thought I would be a stay at home mom, but he has made it completely worth it! I love working with him and teaching him new things everyday!
We recently bought our own house! We just closed on it the other day and we couldn't be happier! Finally out of renting apartments! Our house is very fitting for us and we only have to make minor changes here and there to really fit our needs...like getting the cactus taken out! I've already been attacked by it twice since we moved in not even two weeks ago! Koko had to spend most of his lunch picking the thorns out with tweezers, there were at least 50! So we hired some guys to remove the big agave cactus (there were 4 huge ones in the back yard) and all the "pancake cactus" as I call them, and they are working on those as I type this! Thank god!! Anyway, it has a nice backyard, a paved driveway, two decks (one off the front and one off the back) which is perfect for us since we love grilling and hanging out outside. We found out we are getting a swing set for Mason as a house-warming gift. This kid loves slides and swings more than anything else! Hopefully that comes in tomorrow. Luckily all the cactus should be gone by then so we don't have to worry about him falling into them or anything!
As for other exciting news, we have a baby on the way! A baby girl, she is due in about 6 weeks! Hopefully she doesn't decide to come early, I still have so much to do! As long as she waits til after the baby shower (which is on March 26th) I'll be happy! *fingers crossed*
Our family! Hopefully I can keep up with blogging! I've never really done it before, but I am really looking forward to it!
